EBRD to provide €175 mln to build new subway stations in Kharkiv

The bank chose the contractor for design and research works

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has identified a contractor for design and research works on construction of new subway stations in Kharkiv. The works to be carried out by Austrian consortium Bernard-SGS-ISP-Axis, - announced the press service of Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

The project will be completed by May 2016 and the EBRD with the partners will make the decision on the allocation of 175 million euros in state guarantees for Ukraine so as to develop the subway system in Kharkiv, - said the the report. In the near future, ‘Odessa’ station will be designed.  

Due to the ongoing decommunization procedure in Ukraine, 173 streets, parks and metro stations in Kharkiv were so far renamed.
