Polish president Andrzej Duda stands for the expansion of the EU; he claimed that Ukraine, Moldova and other states that are undergoing reforms to become the EU members should have such an opportunity. Duda said so during the meeting of the Arraiolos group; his press office cited him on Thursday.
"We will not get any trust if our partners who have been paying efforts to get modernized and want to join our community do not have such opportunity. This is why I'm talking about the expansion of the EU", Duda said.
He admitted that the EU should stay open for other European countries that already conduct reforms related to European integration.
Earlier, President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid said Ukraine might need another 20 years of work to join the EU. At that, she claimed that the EU should be bolder in terms of expanding its borders.
