Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Olena Zerkal stated that a further adjournment of the decision of the EU on visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens is unacceptable. She said this during a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli on November 9, 2016. It is reported by MFA press service.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria of the Action Plan to liberalize the EU visa regime for Ukraine, which is confirmed by the report of the European Commission on December 18, 2015.

It said in a statement - "the anti-corruption authorities, who at this stage have demonstrated their effectiveness, introduced a system of e-declaration in accordance with the best European standards in the fight against corruption".

In this regard, Ukraine expects that Member States will make additional efforts and approve a legislative proposal on the provision of Ukrainian citizens the right to short-term visa-free travel to the EU in the near future, regardless of the process of harmonization within the EU mechanism for the temporary suspension of the visa-free regime.
