People's deputy of Ukraine Volodymyr Aryev considers that the Brexit may delay the granting of visa-free regime for Ukraine. He stated this on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"Brexit can prevent the European Union to provide visa-free regime for Ukraine. Brexit occurred during a large migration crisis. This crisis tipped the scales for the British so that they voted for withdrawal from the EU. Therefore, providing the visa-free regime for any country is some risk for the EU, especially for countries which have the part of the territory occupied, this applies to Ukraine and Georgia", Aryev said.
In his opinion, the main reason that the EU is now afraid to provide visa-free regime to any country are possible migration risks.
"When Moldova received visa-free regime, the situation with migrants was not so severe. The EU today may not decide among themselves which institution will be responsible for the mechanism of suspension of visa-free regime with any country in case of migration risk", People’s Deputy stated.
