Secretary of State for European affairs in the French government Clément Beaune assured that the forthcoming visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Paris on Friday, April 16, should not be taken as a signal of the country's prospect of joining the European Union.
He said this in an interview with the French Radio J on Thursday, April 15.
"You can have good relations with Ukraine, you can support Ukraine. And we, in particular, do it in the current difficult situation with Russia. But this does not mean accession to the EU. I do not think this is a serious prospect," Beaune said in an interview with French Jewish Radio on Thursday.
