Interior Minister Arsen Avakov signed an agreement on strategic and operational cooperation with Europol during a working visit to the Netherlands on December 14. It was reported by the press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Conclusion of the agreement will allow the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to share and analyze operational information with their European counterparts, as well as establish the whereabouts of wanted criminals. In addition, it will allow establishing international joint investigation teams.
In turn, the Ukrainian side is ready to provide access to its databases that will be of interest to Europol in terms of cooperation.
According to the report, National Police was determined as the national contact point for cooperation with Europol with the Ukrainian side is. For the rapid exchange of information, the necessary equipment and software will soon be installed, which will be provided by European partners. At the same time, this high-tech communication line will be highly protected. In order to do this, Western partners have already invited a group of Ukrainian experts, who will establish the technical side.
