Austrian prosecutor’s office announced that Austrian detained in Poland fought in Donbas on Ukrainian side

25-year-old citizen of Austria, who was detained at Polish-Ukrainian border near Dorogusk, was fighting in Donbas on Ukrainian side. This was reported by the representative of city’s prosecution in a commentary to Austrian media, according to Deutsche welle

Prosecution suspects the detained Austrian citizen in killings of militants in Donbas - "enemy soldiers, who surrendered" as well as civilians.

Prosecution representative specified that the crimes could have been committed during fights for Donetsk airport. Austrian Internal Ministry confirmed that detainee is suspected in "military crimes against people".

As it was reported, a 25-year-old Austrian citizen was detained in Poland, at the Dorogusk-Yagodin border checkpoint on the night of April 27, border guards detained. Initially he was suspected of involvement in Donbas illegal armed formations, torturing and murdering Ukrainian prisoners of war.
