Former Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoliy Grytsenko said that towards the end of 2016 countries-members of the European Union (EU) will take a decision on the lifting sanctions against Russian Federation.

"At least conversations on the non-public level are like this:"Now we will extend (sanctions) for another six months, and that's all ", - said Grytsenko.

According to him, one of the reasons for such a possible step is fatigue, but the cause also could be a certain freezing of the conflict in Donbas.

Previously, the EU Council stated that the results of the UK referendum on exit from the European Union will not affect the decision on sanctions against Russia.
