“August 26-27 I will arrive to Brussels in order to meet with President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker. Within the bilateral talks with the Belgium government officials of Belgium we plan to focus on visa-free regime issues and security actions coordination. A significant part of the negotiations will be dedicated to the energy deals in order to ensure our capability of reversing European gas and reliable gas transit fulfilment,” stated Petro Poroshenko.
In this regard, European Commission has sent Russia and Ukraine a special document setting out the main points on reaching the gas supply agreement. The document presented the details of prices and discounts, minimum amount of purchases and financing, and the terms of the protocol, as said European Commission member for energy Miguel Arias Canete, Interfax. This document will be discussed at the bilateral ministerial meetings. First ministerial talk with Ukrainian minister of Energy will be held August 27, and his Russian counterpart is to join the negotiations in early September.
