They also supported the establishment of new dates for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, as it would allow athletes to make time to return to training and competition.

In addition, the Athletics Association is in talks in discussions with the Commonwealth Games Federation and the European Championships on the transfer of competitions.

The previous World Athletics Championships took place in Doha on September 27-October 6, 2019.

As we reported earlier, IOC postponed the 2020 Olympic Games due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The competition in Tokyo will be pushed back for a year.
