The flag of Ukraine was solemnly raised in PyeongChang Olympic Village as the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC) reported.

The raising of the state flag took place accompanied by the national anthem of Ukraine at the specialized square and gathered the sportsmen and coaches of the Ukrainian Olympic team.

This traditional ceremony symbolizes the readiness of the national team to participate in Olympic Games.

The participants were welcomed with Korean music and modern dances within the ceremony. Sergy Bubka, the President of the NOC and Anna Sorokyna, the Chef of the Ukrainian Delegation Mission signed the wall of the Olympic Truce.

Also, the exchange of the symbolical souvenirs between the mayor of the village and the Ukrainian delegation took place.

It is reported that it was the warmest day in the village since the Ukrainian delegation arrived. The temperature has jumped from 20 graded below zero to eight grades below zero.
