Russian athlete Aleksandr Krushelnitsky left his Olympic accreditation and abandoned the Olympic village in Pyeongchang due to suspicions in the use of Meldonium, the performance-enhancing drug.
According to Reuters, the Russian delegation expects that the athlete will pass the second probe for any traces of banned substances in his blood.
Previously, the IOC warned the Russian delegation that there could be a possible violation of anti-doping rules by a Russian athlete - after he underwent a test for doping use. The Russian side did not identify the athlete, saying it is to wait until the result of the second probe comes through.
Krushelnitsky and Anastasiya Bryzgalova won the bronze in the curling event, which became the first Olympic award for Russia in this sport.
