The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games 2018 will kick off in South Korean PyeongChang today, on February 9. The ceremony will start 13.00 (Kyiv time), 12.00 CET. The online broadcast of the opening ceremony will begin on 112.international at 12:50.

"Though the high point of the day will of course be the Opening Ceremony at the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium, there is also plenty of sporting action on offer, with the opening round of the mixed doubles curling, the qualification rounds of the men’s and women’s moguls in freestyle skiing, and the start of the team figure skating competition," the message on the official site of the games says.

During the opening ceremony, more than 2,5 thousand athletes from 92 countries will appear before the fans. They are to compete for 102 medals in 15 disciplines until February 25. The total of 33 athletes will represent Ukraine at the 2018 Olympics. The Olympic champion biathlete Olena Pidhrushna will be carrying our flag during the opening ceremony.  

The viewers attending this solemn and colorful part of the Olympics will receive not only aesthetic pleasure from the ceremony. The temperature during the ceremony in PyeongChang is expected to be 22 degrees below zero. The organizers will give spctators ponchos, blankets, hot-water bottles, hot packs for hands and feet and hats to all the visitors, so that they keep warm.
