It was noted that since two Russian athletes failed doping tests at these Games, the Committee didn’t even consider lifting this preventive measure.
However, the suspension of Russian Olympic Committee will be lifted once it has been confirmed that there have been no additional doping violations among all the other Olympic Athletes from Russia.
Previously, two Russian athletes were disqualified for violating the anti-doping rules. Russian curler Aleksandr Krushelnitskii was found guilty of an anti-doping violation after the tests established the presence of banned meldonium on Feb. 22.
Russian bobsleigh athlete Nadezhda Sergeeva was tested positive in the out-of-competition test with trimetazidine.
