Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that a bout between Oleksandr Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs) and Derek Chisora (32-9, 23 KOs) is expected to take place on Halloween (October 31), Sky Sports reports.
“I had a phone call tonight from Alex Krassyuk, who is the co-promoter of Oleksandr Usyk saying, ‘Any news? We are ready to go’. They are the phone calls we are getting quite a lot at the moment, and the pressure mounts on us to come up with. Dereck is training really hard. October 31st is the date we have penciled in for that fight, but it is dependent on the current deal driving people through the doors and having some kind of gate or moving it internationally and having a site fee,” Hearn said.
Their bout was initially scheduled for May 23, but the infamous Covid-19 pandemic prevented the bout from happening.
As we reported earlier, Ukrainian boxer Sergiy Derevyanchenko is going to challenge American Jermall Charlo for his WBC middleweight title on September 26.
It will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
