“The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora has been postponed due to the worldwide COVID-19 epidemic. According to the promoter Oleksandr Krassyuk, the fight is postponed until July. However, everything will depend on the situation in the world," the message reads.
The fight was expected to take place on May 23, at O2 Arena in London.
It is worth noting that Usyk is not the only Ukrainian fighter who got his bout cancelled: Vasyl Lomachenko was expected to face Teofimo Lopez on May 30. However, according to Vasyl's promoter, the bout will be rescheduled.
As we reported earlier, Anthony Joshua shared his opinion on the upcoming bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora.
The unified heavyweight champion believes that his fellow compatriot might be able to test Usyk in the new weight category.
