US Embassy in Ukraine backed the Ukrainian national team at UEFA Euro 2020.  It happened amid UEFA's demands to change Ukraine's uniform which has "Glory to the Heroes" inscription. 

Earlier, Russians complained to UEFA over Ukraine kit with Crimea and slogans “Glory to Ukraine!” and “Glory to the heroes!”

"Can’t wait for kickoff on Sunday - don’t know who will win, but the Ukrainian team will look great!", reads the post on the Embassy's Facebook page.

On Sunday, June 13, the Yellow Blues will play their first fixture in the most prestigious competition among national teams in Europe. Ukrainians will stand against the Dutch team. The other two opponents for Andriy Shevchenko's squad are North Macedonia and Austria.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Association of Football offers to make "Glory to Ukraine!" and "Glory to Heroes!" slogans an official football symbol of this country. Head of the Association Andriy Pavelko posted that on Facebook. According to the official, it will be the reply to numerous commentaries, calls and votes of support for the Association and head coach of the national team Andriy Shevchenko. It appears that the recent case with the new kit of Ukraine's national team kit evoked huge public support in this country.

On June 10, President of Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Pavelko departed to Rome to negotiate with UEFA for talks with UEFA over uniform of Ukrainian national football team.
