Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina said that before the semi-final of Kremlin Cup match she received threats in her address, reports "R-Sport".
According to Elina Svitolina, previously it never happened to her. "Usually after a loss that happens, but it has never happened before the match. Already after my first press conference at the beginning of the tournament, I started to receive threatening messages.
"It is connected with politics, of course. I do not think I'm guilty of something. It is very hard psychologically to play after that. I came here to play tennis, the main task for me - is to show a good game and win the match. And all that happened is very sad, of course,"- said Elina Svitolina.
She told that a person who works with her "just did not have time to delete all of this."
"After the match, all players receive such messages, but after the game I do not care, because that time we already have the result. But if people write, they know where I live, which hotel .... It's hard. I tried to restrict myself from it. But it happened that I saw these posts, "- said Elina Svitolina, noting she doubts whether to take again part in the tournament in Moscow.
In the semi-finals of the competition Elina Svitolina lost to Svetlana Kuznetsova.
