Ukrainian athlete Dmytro Pidruchny has won the gold medal at the Biathlon World Championships in Ostersund, Sweden. This is evidenced by the data on the official website of the International Biathlon Union.

 Ukrainian athlete was 8.3 seconds ahead of the Norwegian Johannes Bø - the owner of "silver," and 17.7 seconds ahead of the Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maya, who got the "bronze."

It is worth noting that on March 9 Pidruchny was close to the medal in the sprint - he came to the finish line 4th.

Earlier biathlete Yulia Dzhyma, one of the leaders of Ukraine's national team, came third in the sprint event at World Cup stage in Holmenkollen, Norway. 

Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina claimed victory in the event; Belarusian Daria Domracheva followed her, finishing second.
