Way to Euro:
The Dutch made their way to the Euro, playing in Group C, where, in addition to them, there were Germany, Northern Ireland, Belarus and Estonia. Franck de Boer's wards qualified well, losing in the second round at home to the Germans (2: 3), after which the Dutch team won in Germany (4: 2) and stumbled just before the end of the selection, drawing with Northern Ireland. It was at this moment that the Netherlands gave the first line in the group to Germany.
Germany - 21 points
Netherlands - 19
Northern Ireland - 13
Belarus - 4
Estonia - 1
Back in the fifth round of the English Championship, Liverpool played a derby against Everton, and already in the 11th minute of the match, the captain and defense leader of the Reds Virgil van Dijk was injured and left the field. After the fight, it became known that the 29-year-old defender damaged the crosses and fell out until spring. Van Dijk could have healed his injury before the start of the Euro, but decided not to recover normally for the new season and miss the continental championship. Which, of course, cannot but sadden the Orange fans.
After the loss of Van Dyck, Luc de Jong became the main star of the current generation of the Netherlands national team. The Sevilla forward has had a bad season at the club, scoring 4 goals in 34 games. But in the national team, Luke is doing better - he scored against Turkey, scored a double against Gibraltar and is approaching the Euro as the main hope of his team's attacks.
Frank de Boer took over the Netherlands national team in the fall of 2020. The first three matches he could not win in any way - the team played friendly matches in the UEFA Nations League, but could not achieve victory in any way. And only two months later the Dutch beat Bosnia. In the selection for the 2022 World Cup, the “orange” started with a defeat to the Turks, after which they confidently dealt with Latvia and Gibraltar. The team shows weak results against top rivals, which does not prevent the coach from looking at the upcoming Euro with confidence and optimism.
"We will beat the Ukrainian national team with a score of 3: 1, and the Austrian national team - 2: 1. I think that after the first two rounds we will secure our way to the playoffs. We will win 3: 0 in North Macedonia. in the group. After all, if we become the first in the group, then we will go to someone from the group of death - France, Portugal or Germany," predicted the events in the group de Boer.

Way to Euro:
The Austrians were selected for the European Championship through Group G. Its rivals in qualification were the teams of Latvia, Israel, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Poland. The Austrians started the selection badly - two defeats from Poland and Israel. But after that, Austria gave out a seven-match streak without defeat, having played on zeros in Poland, and completed the selection with a defeat from Latvia and in second place.
Poland - 25 points
Austria - 19
Slovenia - 14
North Macedonia - 14
Israel - 11
Latvia - 3
Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga this season with some problems. Nevertheless, Flick's team played flamboyant football with a traditionally high number of attacks and goals. And one of the most important details of this mechanism was David Alaba, who played in 32 matches of the season. And this was the 12th season of Alaba in Munich, after which he said goodbye to the team with dignity, marked with an assist against Augsburg, and signed a contract with Real Madrid.
In the national team, David Alaba is the main star and leader on the field. And without him, there are enough authoritative and charismatic people in the roster, but only 28-year-old David can boast of such a high playing status. And the price tag of 55 million euros, at which Transfermarkt estimates the player, sets him apart from others.
German Franco Foda was born in Mainz, where he began his football career. After playing at home, especially noting in “Kaisersleitern”, “Bayer” and “Stuttgart”, he went to finish his career in the Swiss “Basel”, and then in the Austrian “Storm”. In 2001 he played the last match for the club from Graz and moved to the coaching staff of the club's double. Two years later, he was temporarily appointed head coach for the first time, having worked with the first team for six months. In 2006 he became the head of the club, winning the championship and the Austrian Cup. In 2012, he left for his homeland, where he worked for two years at Kaiserslautern, after which he returned to Sturm, with which he worked before being invited to the national team.
Under the German, the Austrian national team plays disciplined football with an emphasis on defense. And despite reaching the Euro, in Austria the German coach is criticized for such caution. After all, Austria has one of the most interesting rosters in terms of individually high-quality footballers in history. Nevertheless, Foda, as the main responsible for the result, is not being criticized and focuses on playing on the defensive.

Way to Euro:
In qualifying for the European Championship, Ukraine's rivals were Serbia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and stellar Portugal, along with Ronaldo. Having started with a draw at a visit to the European champions, the Ukrainians confidently won 6 matches, securing the first place in the group, completing the selection of another away draw with the Serbs.
Ukraine - 20 points
Portugal - 17
Serbia - 14
Luxembourg - 4
Lithuania - 1
A couple of years ago, Ruslan Malynovsky was considered a talented, but ordinary Ukrainian footballer who could not play at Shakhtar and went to look for happiness in Europe. The diligence and talent of the Ukrainian got fertile ground in the Belgian “Genk”, where he won the championship in 2.5 seasons and became the best player in the team.
The € 13.5m transfer to Atalanta looked like a logical step forward in a midfielder's career. And in Italy, Malinovsky's progress continued - he became a base player, played in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and last season gave a gorgeous ending and became the best assistant in Serie A. fans are waiting for the lead in attack.
For the owner of the "Golden Ball" -2004 and the best football player in the history of independent Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko, work in the Ukrainian national team was the first coaching experience in his career. He got into the headquarters of the national team in 2016 six months before Euro 2016, where the national team was led by Mykhailo Fomenko. After an unsuccessful performance in France, it was Andriy Nikolaevich who replaced Fomenko in the coaching chair.
After his appointment, Shevchenko began to instill modern football in the national team. The Ukrainian national team began to have more possession of the ball, to play a quick pass, which eventually began to bring results. At first, the Ukrainians could not overcome the qualification of the 2018 World Cup, where they lost the competition to Iceland and Croatia. But then a bright performance in the League of Nations followed, where the Ukrainians easily and confidently dealt with strong rivals. And then there was a successful selection for Euro 2020, where the Ukrainians won the group, beating the reigning European champions, the Portuguese. After the postponement of Euro 2020, the Ukrainian national team played with Switzerland, Germany and Spain in the League of Nations, showed itself very well against the background of top rivals, but because of FIFA and the coronavirus, it “lost” to Switzerland and dropped in the class. In the spring of 2021, the Ukrainians started with three draws in the World Cup qualification.
Andriy Shevchenko managed to create a bright and interesting team from the current generation of Ukrainian footballers. He tries to follow the modern tendencies of football - under him the Ukrainian national team will play more dynamically, which the players themselves like. And with the result, a great atmosphere came to the team.

Way to Euro:
The participation of the North Macedonian national team in Euro 2020 is the result of the first UEFA Nations League. The Macedonians won their group in Division D, after which they dealt with Georgia in the two-match playoffs and for the first time in their history reached the European Championship. By that time, the Macedonians had already lost the Euro qualifier, where they played in the same group with the Austrians (they lost both matches).
But the team had a great start in the selection for the World Championship. They gave a very fighting duel in Romania, where they lost only at the end of the match. And after that, the Macedonians defeated Liechtenstein and beat Germany itself on the road. This has never happened in the history of the national team.
The main footballer of the generation in North Macedonia is, of course, Goran Pandev. He is the only winner of the Champions League in the history of the country, which Pandev won with Inter. The 37-year-old forward is still showing his skills. This season he has scored 7 goals and made 3 assists in 30 appearances for Genoa.
It was Goran Pandev who secured the entry to Euro for the North Macedonian national team. It was his goal against the Georgian national team that brought victory to the Macedonians. And for the oldest footballer - the opportunity to finally play in a big tournament, but for the first time with the national team.
Igor Angelovsky has been working as the head coach of the national team since 2016. He was called thereafter three seasons in "Rabotnichki", with which Angelovsky won the Macedonian championship and twice won the country's Cup. Under the leadership of Angelovsky, the team began to progress. Well, the peak was the entry to Euro and the current form of the team, which was just a little short of taking the second division of the League of Nations in a row.
Angelovsky invited many young footballers to the European Championship, which sparked a discussion in the Macedonian media. Due to injury, another local star Nesterovski from “Udinese” could not go and Angelovsky had to focus on the rejuvenation of the squad. "These players are our future. I expect them to become big players in the national team in the near future." So commented on the inclusion in the application of Milan Ristovski (23 years old), Riste Yankov (22 years old), and Darko Churlinov (20 years old).
