Andriy Lunin, the goalkeeper of Ukraine's national football team showed up in the starting eleven of CD Leganes, as the team faced Rayo Vallecano in Copa Del Rey.
It was the return leg of the fixture in the competition's Round of the Last 32; the first one ended up in a 2-2 draw.
In the first half, Rayo Vallecano got the own goal; soon after that, then got a chance to even the odds with a penalty kick. Bebe approached the ball and took his shot, but Lunin parried the kick.
The final score remained 0-1, with Leganes proceeding to the next stage of the Copa Del Rey playoffs.
Lunin debuted with Leganes in October 2018. The head coach Mauricio Pellegrino insisted that Lunin is young and has a future in the team. 'Andriy Lunin comes to terms with his teammates. He's a young goalkeeper and he's still got to get used to it', he said.
Interestingly, Rayo Vallecano considered borrowing Lunin from Real Madrid; but eventually, the Ukrainian joined Leganes.
