Italy was held to a friendly draw by Ukraine on October 10.

Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi's powerful shot spun into the back of the net in the second half following a mistake from keeper Andriy Pyatov to give Italy the lead.

Ruslan Malinovskiy equalised for Ukraine with a bouncing volley seven minutes later.

Italy's failure to mark the occasion with a win means they have picked up just two victories in their last 12 games.

It was an emotional night at Sampdoria's Stadio Luigi Ferraris which honoured the victims of the bridge collapse in Genoa. In August, a section of the Morandi motorway collapsed, killing 43 people and injuring more than a dozen.

The match was paused in the 43rd minute as players, staff and supporters applauded in memory of those who died. A message which read "Genoa in the heart" was shown on the big screen.

As it was reported earlier, Ukraine's national team successfully performs in UEFA Nations League - at least so far. The Yellow Blues and the Squaddra Azzurra played a friendly at Luigi Ferrari arena in Genoa.

Shevchenko's men successfully defeated their first opponents in the Nations League, beating the Czechs and the Slovaks. Ukraine might just as well continue with the victorious march, as Roberto Mancini is in the complicated position at the moment, trying to rebuild the squad and improve the team chemistry. After all, Italians have not tasted victory since spring.

Earlier, the Federation of Football of Ukraine presented the new official kits of this country's national team. With these kits, the squad will perform in UEFA Nations League; this is the new football tournament, where the competitors are the national teams - unlike the other prestigious UEFA competitions like Champions League or Europa League. Joma company, the official kit supplier of Ukraine's national team presented the three uniforms, as the Yellow-Blues prepared for the new competition at the NSC Olimpiysky stadium in Kyiv. The first kit is completely yellow, the second one is blue with the narrow yellow stripes on the edges of T-shirts and shorts. The third one, the alternate kit is completely white, with golden color used for names and numbers on it.
