Ukrainian biathlete Yulia Dzhyma took second place in the sprint at the World Cup in Czech Nove Mesto. She fired two straight shots, but ended up losing 9.3 seconds to Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff.

The third place was taken by the Italian Lisa Vitozzi.

The results of the rest of the Ukrainian national team representatives in this race are as follows: Daria Blashko - 16th place, Anastasia Merkushyna - 22nd place, Olena Pidgrushna - 34th place, Valentina Semerenko - 40th place.

On February 20, the Ukrainian women's biathlon team won bronze in the relay at the World Championships, which took place in Slovenian Pokljuka.

Earlier Yulia Dzhyma, one of the leaders of Ukraine's national team, came third in the sprint event at World Cup stage in Holmenkollen, Norway.
