Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid won gold in the under 48 kg division at the World Championships in Tokyo, Sport.ua reported.
In the final, the Ukrainian athlete turned out to be stronger than the Japanese Funa Tonaki. She won due to Vasari fighting techniques, which she used at the very beginning of the match. Thus, Bilodid became a two-time world champion.
On her way to the finals, she defeated Katarina Costa from Portugal, Sariuna Cizipova from the UN Refugee Olympic team, Spaniard Laura Martinez and Munhabatin Uranzeceg from Mongolia.
Earlier, Daria Bilodid became the youngest judo world champion at the championship in Baku, Azerbaijan, aged just 17 years and 11 months.
