Ukrainian athletes officially banned from participation in competitions in Russia

Sports Minister also urged the international federations to not hold the competitions in Russia

The Ukrainian National Teams are officially banned from the participation in the sports event at the territory of Russia. The proper order was signed today by Ihor Zhdanov, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine as the press service of the ministry reported.

This document banns the planning and holding of the training camps at the territory of the country-aggressor and the participation of the members of the National Teams of Ukraine in all kinds of sport in all sports competitions held in Russia.

Zhdanov explained that the order was signed due to the recent adoption of the law on Donbas reintegration.

'The current events demand from us more decisive actions', he noted.

The minister also urged the international federations to not hold the competitions in Russia.

Earlier Zhdanov urged the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine to boycott the stage of 2017-2018 Biathlon World Cup in Russian city Tyumen.
