Ukrainian athlete Olena Kryvytska won a bronze medal at the Fencing World Championships in Leipzig. This is reported on the championship website.

According to the world championship, Ukrainian reached the semi-final, in which lost to Polish athlete Eva Nelip with a score of 10:15. Since the duel for third place in the World Cup is not held, the Ukrainian after this defeat automatically became the owner of bronze.

Note that in the 1/8 finals Kryvytska sensationally knocked out the favorite of the tournament Chinese Sung Iven (15:13), and in the quarter finale coped with the Russian Tatiana Logunova (15:11).

This bronze became Kryvytska's first individual award in her career at the World Championships. Prior to this, the only medal of the world championships Ukrainian won in 2015 in the team epee.

Earlier Ukrainian athlete Olga Kharlan became a three-time world champion in the individual tournament.
