Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko greatly helped Manchester City grab the victory over Leicester FC, as the teams came toe-to-toe in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.
The FA Premier League's champions beat Leicester in the penalty shootout, as the opponents failed to sort things out in the full time (1-1). Zinchenko, the defender of Ukraine's national team appeared to have scored the winning shot in the series.
Thus, Manchester City moved on to the competition's semifinal.
Previously, the Ukrainian midfielder badly lacked game practice in England; he has not played for a while, rejecting the transfer to Wolverhampton. The Spanish outlet Al Final de la Palmera implied that a year-long rent with game practice in the Spanish league (which also involves practice in top European football championships) might be a great step in the career of the young player. Girona and Celtic also showed interest in Zinchenko's skills.
Zinchenko officially moved to England in 2016. The player went for PSV rent but didn’t play there after the transfer from the Russian Ufa club to Manchester City for four million euros. After that, he decided to stay in the team of Josep Guardiola, played in eight matches for the top-club and became the champion of England.
