Dayana Yastremska, the young and promising tennis talent from Ukraine is about to cross swords with the living legend Serena Williams. The two will face each other in the Australian Open fixture on January 19.
As Yastremska defeated Carla Suarez Navarro in the previous fixture, she made it to the next stage, the Round of Last 32, where Williams is waiting for her to sort things out.
According to the official website of Australian Open, Williams was asked about facing the opponent who was born a year after Williams's first Grand Slam title (which was the victory in the US Open in 1999, and Yastremska was born in 2000, - 112 International). 'Well, I think, God, Serena, are you still out here on the tour, seriously? I'm going to just go out there and obviously take her extremely seriously. She's here, made it this far, and she's here to win', Williams said.
Earlier, Ukraine's No.1 Elina Svitolina beat her opponent Viktória Kužmová from Slovakia in the same competition.
