Ukrainian athlete Oleksiy Torokhtiy is forced to give up his gold medal that he won in the Summer Olympics in London in 2012. The reason is the positive test result for doping. The International Olympic Committee made the respective decision.

"Oleksiy TOROKHTIY, 33, of Ukraine, competing in the men’s 105kg weightlifting event in which he ranked 1st and was awarded the gold medal, has been disqualified from the Olympic Games London 2012. Re-analysis of Torokhtiy’s samples from London 2012 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substances Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone", reads the message.

Due to the said fact, the IOC canceled the athlete's achievements in 2012-2015. The athlete will have to give up his award, certificate and the badge that he received for his victory in the London Olympics.

In December 2018, the International Weightlifting Federation temporarily suspended Torokhtiy from competitions for the same reason.
