Ukraine's Svitolina beats Pliskova in WTA event in Singapore

Elina Svitolina, Ukraine's No.1 tennis player defeated Czech Karolina Pliskova in the ongoing WTA event in Singapore. It took the Ukrainian three sets to beat the opponent (6:3, 2:6, 6:3). In the first and the third ones, she definitely dominated over Pliskova, losing only the second set.

After two victories in two rounds, Ukraine's No.1 confidently moves to the play-off stage of the competition. On October 25, she will stand against Danish Caroline Wozniacki; the winner will enter the semifinals of the WTA competition.

Earlier, 18-year-old Dayana Yastremska and Wang Qiang from China met in the finals of the Open Tennis Championship in Hong Kong 

It took the third best tennis player of Ukraine two sets to win. Yastremska gave only three games in two sets by spending a little more than an hour for the final. Yastremska will receive $163 thousand for the victory.

Dayana Yastremska became the youngest tennis player who reached the final of the WTA in singles and won the title aged 18.
