The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutzayt said that President Volodymyr Zelensky had instructed him to start preparing the country for the Olympic Games. Gutzeit stated it in an interview with Tribuna.com.
"The president has set a task to bring the Olympics to Ukraine. But this requires a material and technical base. Now we are looking at whether it is possible or not. If it is, we should figure out what needs to be built. The president told me a week ago to present a technical task necessary for the Olympic Games. We are working on it at the moment," Gutzeit said.
According to him, the main thing is that the construction of sports facilities, which would attract more Ukrainians to train.
As we reported earlier, yesterday, on September 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a draft bill on ratification of the memorandum and the agreement with the EU, which would allow the Cabinet of Ministers to get the credit in the amount of 1.2 billion euros each.
"The memorandum stipulates general conditions to allocate funds and defines the measures within structural reforms that are necessary to get the second tranche of this assistance. The foreseen measures concern the medical procurement, tax and customs reforms, functioning of the court system, state management, corporative management for state enterprises and gas market functioning," reads the message.
