Ukraine's national football team hosted Portugal's national team in Kyiv, at the NSC Olimpiyskiy. It was the match of the qualifying round of the European Championship, which takes place in 2020.
Already at the start of the match, Ukrainians managed to score a goal - after the corner kick Krivtsov was able to execute precise shot with his head, Patricio defended it, but Yaremchuk was the first to finish. Giving the ball to the opponent, the blue and yellow tried to focus on defense and played on the counter-attacks. During one of them, Portuguese players "forgot" Yarmolenko in the center of the free-kick, who calmly gave a pass to Mykolenko and Andriy secured the second goal.
In the middle of the second half, the visitors were able to turn their game advantage into a goal. This time Felix struck from a distance, the ball hit Stepanenko's hand, for whom this foul cost the second yellow card and removal. Ronaldo executed penalty and Pyatov could not handle the blow.
It is worth mentioning that Euro-2020 will be the third tournament in the history of Ukraine's national team. Previously, Ukrainians played at home Euro in 2012 and then went to France in 2016.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine hosted Lithuania in UEFA Euro 2020 qualification at the Metalist arena in Kharkiv on October 11. Ukraine won with a score of 2:0.
Ukrainian football player Ruslan Malinovskyi's goals brought victory for Ukraine.
