Ukrainian sabre fencer Olga Kharlan won a gold medal in the women's individual saber event at Saber Grand Prix, which was held in Montreal, Canada. It was reported by the National Fencing Federation of Ukraine.

Harlan was able to deal with France's Margaux Rifkiss (15-7), Japan's Norika Tamura (15-7), Mariel Zagunis of the United States (15-8) and Sara Balzer of France (15-7).

In the semifinals, she defeated China's Shao Yaqi in a very intense match (15-14).

Ukrainian fencer faced her Russian counterpart Olga Nikitina in the final, who was not able to deal with Harlan's mastery and lost 7-15.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan triumphed at the Grand Prix in Seoul, South Korea.

In the semifinals, Kharlan had her revenge against Korean Ji Yeon Kim, she defeated the opponent in a tense struggle with only one point - 15:14.

Harlan holds a bronze medal from both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics. She is also a four-time World champion (2013, 2014, 2017 and 2019) and five-time European champion.
