Ukraine's canoeist Serhiy Yemelianov wins gold of Tokyo Paralympics, 2021

Ukrainian canoeist Serhiy Yemelianov claimed gold of the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo. According to Sport Syohodni, the 28-year-old athlete from Dnipro city defeated Russia's Leonid Krylov by one-tenth of a second in the 200 m race.

It's Ukraine's 21st gold medal in these Games. In the medal count, Ukrainian team comes fifth; China leads the way by a wide margin.

Earlier, Ukrainian Maksym Krypak won the fourth gold medal with the world record in swimming at the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

The 2020 Paralympic Games have started in the Japanese capital on August 24. The games will last from August 24 until September 5, 2021. About 4,400 athletes from 160 countries participate in the Paralympic Games.

About a hundred athletes come to Tokyo Paralympics from Ukraine. They participate in different competitions, particularly, archery, paracanoe, shooting, table tennis, and others. The biggest team in the Ukrainian Paralympic team is swimmers – 40 athletes.
