The Ukrainian team won 15 medals at the junior boxing championship of Europe. The competition took place in Budva, Montenegro, Segodnya reports.

Young Ukrainian boxers claimed three gold, five silver, and seven bronze awards. In the overall standings, the Ukrainian junior team came second.

Gold: Yuriy Zakhareev, Illya Tohobitsk, and Mykyta Horbatenko. This was actually the second champion title for Zakhareev, who claimed his first championship in Bulgaria in 2019.

Silver: Roman Lytvynov, Vasyl Tkachuk, Maryna Stoiko, Anna Sezko, and Yana Taranenko.

Bronze: Danylo Dryzhak, Hennadiy Maslennikov, Bozorboy Matyakubov, Denys Salabay, Kateryna Bondarchuk, Raisa Piskun and Viktoria Levchuk.

The only team that surpassed Ukrainians in terms of the general number of awards was the Russian one. The Russians collected 19 medals - nine gold, nine silver and one bronze. Meanwhile, Ukraine still managed to beat 20 teams that also participated in the competition.

This year, the Ukrainian junior team of boxers showed one of the best overall results in their history. At junior Euro-2019, Ukrainians claimed nine medals, one of which was gold, three silver and five bronze.
