On February 22, Denys Berinchyk was defending his WBO International lightweight title for the third time against Argentinian boxer Hector Edgardo Sarmiento, UNIAN reported

An undefeated Ukrainian boxer Denys Berinchyk has successfully defended his WBO International title, beating Argentinian Hector Sarmiento via unanimous decision,” the message reads.

The fighters went through a distance of 12 rounds. Berynchik was able to set the pace of the fight and establish ring control right at the beginning of the fight. Sarmiento was trying to counterattack, but he was falling short. The Ukrainian had an opportunity to finish the bout in the eighth round, but his Argentinian counterpart was able to survive till the end of the round.

As a result, a dominant victory for Berynchik via unanimous decision – 117:111, 117:112, 118:110 and other successful defense of the title in his homeland.

As we reported earlier, WBA, WBO, WBC and The Ring lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko is expected to get the highest payday of his career for a unification bout against Teofimo Lopez.

According to, Loma will be guaranteed to receive 4,5 million dollars.
