Ukraine and Turkey go for a friendly football game on Tuesday night.
Having suffered a bitter defeat to Slovakia in UEFA Nations League, Ukraine's national football team still comes first in the group. So there should be little to bring their spirit down.
The game will kick off at Antalya Arena at 19.30 p.m.
Head coach of the Turkish team Mircea Lucescu asked to hold the sparring in Turkey. In return, Turks will come to any city of choice of the Federation of Football of Ukraine. As Antalya Arena suffers the aftermath of the rainy weather, the pitch might be in a bad condition; the event's organizers asked the teams to practice on other fields to save the pitch of Antalya Arena.
Last month, Ukraine claimed first place in UEFA Nations League Group 1 in League B, as Andriy Shevchenko's squad defeated Czechs. The 1-0 win in a home game in Kharkiv's Metallist Arena let Ukraine get another three points, which made it possible for the team to climb to the top of the group's rankings.
The UEFA Nations League is a biennial international association football competition to be contested by the senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA, the sport's European governing body.
The first tournament commenced in September 2018, following the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The four group winners from League A will qualify for the finals, to be played at a yet to be decided European city in June 2019. Four nations, one from each League, will also qualify for the UEFA Euro 2020 finals.
The competition will largely replace international friendly matches currently played on the FIFA International Match Calendar.
