Ukraine is to compete for the right to host the European boxing championship among men. According to President of Ukraine’s Federation of Boxing Volodymyr Prodivus, the organization already filed an application, while the country has all the necessary resources, including time, to host the competition on the highest level.

‘The vote for the host country will take place in the near future, and we expect Kharkiv, our candidate, to earn this right. We already had an experience of holding several international-class boxing competitions, even the World Series of Boxing – which was last year, when Ukrainian Otamans stood against Cuba Domadores,’ the official said.

Ukraine’s rivals for the right to host the event are Russia and Turkey. The European boxing championship is slated for July 2017.
