Ukraine intends to participate in a competition for a right to host the 2028 or 2030 Olympic Games. This was stated by the incumbent Head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak, the press service of the President's Office reports.

"Andriy Yermak also said that the Office of the President, on behalf of Volodymyr Zelensky, was working together with the National Olympic Committee on a visit of IOC President to Ukraine and expressed confidence that it would be a good opportunity to show how Ukraine was preparing to become one of the contestants of the competition for the Olympic Games," the statement said.

In turn, Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Gutzeit said that President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka was working on Ukraine's participation in the competition for the 2028 or 2030 Olympic Games.

As we reported earlier, the World Athletics Championship, which was scheduled to be held in Eugene, Oregon (USA) from August 6 to August 15, 2021, is postponed to 2022.
