Dnipro city hosted a friendly football game where Ukraine played with Nigeria.
Ukraine's head coach Andriy Shevchenko allowed reserve goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to show up in the starting eleven, for the sake of practice.
The guests acted aggressively, opening the score early in the first half; Joe Aribo made it 1-0 thanks to the assist by Alex Iwobi. While the Ukrainians tried to get their act together, attacking the adversary, Nigerians organized several decent counterattacks; eventually, they were awarded a penalty. Victor Osimhen outmatched Andriy Lunin, and the score became 2-0.
In the second half, things did not change much. It wasn't until the final 15 minutes of the match, when Marlos joined the line-up of Ukraine's national team. The Yellow-Blues began to show more creativity in their attacks, which resulted in two goals; at first, Oleksandr Zinchenko made it 2-1 thanks to Marlos's low cross, and then, Yaremchuk equalized the score after making it one on one with Nigerian goalkeeper.
It was the seventh game for Ukraine against an African team since 1992; Ukrainians won three games, and another four ended as a draw.
