Ukraine national football team will play a friendly match against Cyprus national team, press service Ukrainian Association of Football reports.
The match with Cypriots is scheduled for May 26. The match will take place in Ukraine, but the city is not yet known.
This is the third “sparring” scheduled for Ukrainian national team before Euro-2020. In March, Shevchenko's wards are expected to play friendly matches with France (March 27) and Poland (March 31).
Ukrainians have only played three times against the Cypriots. At this moment, Blue-Yellows have one victory, one loss and one draw.
As we reported earlier, the games of the qualification round of UEFA Euro 2020 are over. 20 teams made their way to the finals, and another four are yet to do so after the playoffs in March 2020.
Ukraine's team won in its qualification group, and the Netherlands came second in their group; the teams ended up in different pots, but now their paths will cross in the competition's finals. The draw procedure will take place on November 30.
According to the head coach of Ukraine's national team, his players are in the process of developing their own signature style of play.
"I am glad the qualification came out very good. In my opinion, it is the first time in history we went through without defeat. I am very grateful to the guys for the game - it was not easy. Moreover, our fans did not have an opportunity to come and support us, which is very important for us,” Shevchenko stated.
