Ukraine's national football team hosted Spaniards in the home game of the UEFA Nations League. The second-leg match of the fixture was played at NSC Olimpiysky.
The Yellow-Blues lost the first leg, and seem to have learned from their loss. Andriy Shevchenko and his staff corrected a lot of mistakes allowed in the first match. Though Spain's attacks from flanks were a regular thing, they did not pose much of a threat for the home team. The Spaniards kept the ball, but the Ukrainians appeared to be ready for such a scenario, showing some decent defense skills.
In the second half of the game, the Ukrainians eventually opened the score. Viktor Tsygankov's ball made it 1-0 at 76'.
In the other game of Group D, Switzerland and Germany played a 3-3 tie. Thus, after four rounds, the Spaniards lead the way with seven points. Germany and Ukraine have six points each, and Switzerland comes last, with two.
