The south-Ukrainian city of Odesa hosted the UEFA Europa League game between Zorya Luhansk and Manchester United. The outsider and the runner-up in Group A sorted it out – not without a desperate face-off on the pitch. The Ukrainian squad managed to keep the opponent away from their goals until the early second half. However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan - formerly, the midfielder of Shakhtar Donetsk - and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had enough time to prove their team’s huge advantage in class and experience in the European competitions. And so they did.
It’s all to the good, though. Zorya now can relax, recover after the tough season in Europe and focus on performing in the Ukrainian premier league. And the Mancunians will carry on in UEFA Europa League’s playoffs – along with Fenerbahce, the winner in the Group A.
