Zorya Luhansk hosted Leicester City in the game of UEFA Europa League. The match was played in Zaporizhya, southeastern Ukraine.
The guests already booked their place in the Last 32 of the tournament - along with Braga SC, as the Portuguese defeated AEK. So Leicester's head coach Bernard Rogers decided to put the second team on the pitch for this game, letting the first team rest. Zorya, in turn, managed to gain control over the ball, storming the opponent's goals; Danny Ward had to step in early in the first half, parrying Vladyslav Kochergin's shot. Gradually, Leicester managed to get its act together and created several moments of its own. However, Zorya's defense lines held just fine.
Vladlen Yurchenko could have scored with the header early in the second half, but the ball hit the crossbar. Eventually, Allahyar Sayadmenes sent the ball into the net after Artem Gromov's lob pass.
In the remaining six minutes, the British could not do anything to at least make it a draw.
Zorya won 1-0, and this victory let the Ukrainian squad make it to third place in the group.
