Zorya Luhansk played the game of Round 4 of group stage of UEFA Europa League. It came to Athens to be hosted by local AEK.
The home team showed some domination in the first half, but none of the squads could pierce their opponent's defense. In the early second, Yevhen Shakhov, AEK's Ukrainian midfielder got himself a second yellow card, leaving his team to end the match in ten. Soon after that, the guests manged to open the score thanks to the efforts of Artem Gromov. Later, Vladyslav Kabayev made it 2-0. Eventually, Vladlen Yurchenko scored from the penalty kick, sealing the fate of the game.
In the first leg with AEK, on November 6, Zorya lost to the Greeks (1-4). Thus, in the second, the Ukrainian squad got its revenge on the pitch.
After four rounds, Zorya is still last in the Europa League group; only now the Ukrainian and the Greek teams have the same number of points.
