Ukrainian football teams played their first play-off matches in UEFA Europa League.

Dynamo Kyiv stood against Maritimo in Funchal; Kyivites failed to score, but at least did not allow a goal in the away game. Defense man Yevhen Khacheridi left his team shorthanded in the second half due to the red card.

Ukraine’s FC Oleksandriya and Belarusian BATE both scored, making it a tie; the 1-1 score was sealed yet in the first half. The Ukrainians lost the goal first, but it took them just a little more than ten minutes to return the favor.
