Shakhtar Donetsk hosted Eintracht Frankfurt in the game of UEFA Europa League playoffs. The teams crossed swords in the Round of the Last 32.
The Mountaineers had a player sent off early into the first half; Taras Stepanenko received two yellow cards for what the referee considered dangerous tackles against the opponent. Thus, by the tenth minute into the game, Shakhtar remained short-handed - for the rest of the match.
Thanks to Hinteregger and Marlos, who successfully scored from a penalty spot, the teams made it a tie already in the first half. In the second, Shakhtar's goalkeeper Pyatov couldn't do much after Kostic's strike, which made the score 2-1. But the Mountaineers managed to prove it's not over yet - at least, for them. Taison completed a beautiful pass from Junior Moraes, and made it a draw again.
Earlier on Thursday, Dynamo Kyiv barely avoided the loss from Olympiakos in Piraeus, also playing a 2-2 tie.
