The German city of Wolfsburg hosted the match of UEFA Europa League on Thursday night. The local team, VfL Wolfsburg stood against Ukraine's FC Oleksandriya.
The home team kept the situation under control most of the time; first two goals were claimed over five minutes in the first half. Oleksandriya resisted and managed to score once in the second, but the 2-1 score lasted only for a minute or so. Wolfsburg immediately made it 3-1, leaving the guests a ghostly chance to make a comeback in the second leg.
Earlier, we reported that Dynamo Kyiv hosted Malmö FF in the game of UEFA Europa League; the game took place at NSC Olimpiysky stadium in the Ukrainian capital. As Dynamo was kicked out of Champions League, it became a matter of honor for the team to get revenge in Europa League.
Kyivites landed decent pressure on their opponents for most of the game, but Malmo held out until the late second half. Mykola Buyalsky scored at '84 - eventually, after failing multiple times. Thus, Kyivites managed to cease their losing streak and claimed the first win in this season's Europa League.
