National football teams of Italy and Turkey are going to play the opening fixture of UEFA Euro 2020. The game will kick off at Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 10 p.m. Kyiv time.
The opener might turn out quite interesting. It's a home game for Italy, and Squaddra Azzurra will enjoy the support of their fans for sure. But the opponent will be tough, as coach Şenol Güneş trianed his team to play their defense first. And that's what helped the Turks to defeat the Dutch and to cope with the French. And now, they've got Italy in front of them.
Italians have a trouble or two in terms of the line-up. Stefano Sensi, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Marco Verratti will not appear on the pitch this time. Coach Roberto Mancini has enough top-level players anyway, but these forced substitutions might affect the team's performance.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Association of Football offers to make "Glory to Ukraine!" and "Glory to Heroes!" slogans an official football symbol of this country. Head of the Association Andriy Pavelko posted that on Facebook. According to the official, it will be the reply to numerous commentaries, calls and votes of support for the Association and head coach of the national team Andriy Shevchenko. It appears that the recent case with the new kit of Ukraine's national team kit evoked huge public support in this country.
On June 10, President of Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Pavelko departed to Rome to negotiate with UEFA for talks with UEFA over uniform of Ukrainian national football team.
