Shakhtar Donetsk FC faced Real Madrid C.F. in its first match of the Champions League group stage.
The Miners' line-up for this match was not at its best - coronavirus and injuries deprived the team's head coach of key players.
Nevertheless, Shakhtar finished the first time of the match with three goals on its record (one of them was scored with the assist of one of Real's players). The second part was more competitive with the hosts scoring two goals.
As a result, a 3:2 win for the Ukrainian club in an intense showdown.
As we reported earlier, yesterday, on October 20, Kyiv-based NSC Olimpiysky stadium hosted the game between Dynamo Kyiv FC and Juventus.
The guests took the ball since the very beginning of the game. Both teams showed some decent skills in defense, and the first half ended without any goals.
However, bianco neri opened the score early in the second half: Bushchan managed to parry Kulusewski's shot, and then Morata managed to use the opportunity to end the attack. Dynamo tried to counterattack but there was no luck with beating Szczesny on his goals. Not long before the final whistle, Cuadrado landed a lob from the right flank, and Morata doubled the score.
This was Dynamo's first loss since Mircea Lucescu joined the club.
